I’m sleeping but I’m walking back
My feet have memorized the track below me now
I bow my head into the dark
And count my paces through the park
On my way now
And I know that I feel like someone else
That I can hardly recognize myself
And the lines in my hands are not so clear
As I disappear
Close into the trees I keep
As silently the neighbors sleep around me now
It’s just a half a block away
How many footsteps can you pay on your way now?
