APPROACHES

While the commute between Norway and France has slowed and stunted the making of this record considerably, we have now committed to a selection of 13 songs out of the 20 we initially recorded. Although the original idea was to make a very stripped-down and unsophisticated record, it looks like the result of our work is probably going to be quite the opposite. The instrumentation is often denser than planned and the vocal arrangements are tricky at times. So, although we are trying to keep the production as in-house as possible, we have long ago realized that we will need the ears and fingers of someone more accomplished than ourselves for the mix. We are therefore currently scouting for the sound engineer that’s going to be right for the project. While most of our tests have hereto been with Paris based mixers we are also talking to some US-based engineers. I hope we can  make a comittment within the end of April so as to get the album master before summer.
